Affaire ‘bal koulèr’ : Production de la bande sonore, Ravi Rutnah s’y oppose

Coup de théâtre dans l’affaire ‘bal koulèr’ ce matin en Cour intermédiaire, où le procès intenté à l’ex-ministre de l’Environnement Raj Dayal par la Commission anti-corruption (ICAC) a repris devant les magistrats Sacheen Boodhoo et Darshana Gayan.  Après le retrait de Me Gavin Glover, Me Yanilla Moonshiram et Me Didier Godin de l’affaire, Raj Dayal s’est alors tourné vers Me Ravi Rutnah et Me Avineshwar Dayal pour le représenter.

Alors que la poursuite représentée par, Me Medaven Armoogum, voulait mettre en évidence un CD qui contient la conversation entre l’ex-ministre et l’homme d’affaires Patrick Soobhany, Me Ravi Rutnah s’y est catégoriquement opposé.  Il considère que «This exhibit has been illegally and improperly obtained, thereby causing my client to be entrapped in a conversation which has been maliciously recorded and thereafter manipulated with a view to distort the truth ».  L’affaire a été ajournée au 31 juillet prochain.
