En effet, la section 12, qui concerne les élections villageoises sera amendée, comme suit : « Section 12 of the principal Act is amended, in subsection (1), by repealing paragraph (a) and replacing it by the following paragraph – (a) held in the year 2020 and thereafter every 6 years, at such date, as the President shall, on the advice of the Prime Minister, appoint. »
Par ailleurs, provisions seront faites par les amendements pour que « Every Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of a District Council or Village Council in office on the commencement of this Act shall continue to serve as such until their successors are elected after the election of Councillors to a Village Council to be held in the year 2020.”
