[L.E] EID-UL-FITR AND AFTERWARDS

The peerless month of Ramadan does not leave us empty-handed. It leaves us with a golden handshake in the name of Eid-Ul-Fitr. Eid is a boon. Bliss is blossoming. Blessings are booming. Purity abides around our hearts as our soul are blessed with the sown seeds of joy. Islam golden moments. Islam magical moments. Eid spreads love, happiness and peace. At Eid prayer, we cry and beseech Allah to accept our good actions during Ramadan and beg for forgiveness if dereliction occurred. Then, we greet friends and relatives with cling and snuggle hugs. On that particular occasion, we bury the hatchet, dissever animosity, reconcile and cement friendship. Catchy moments! This is the beauty of Islam! The moment of togetherness and harmony is stupendous.

At home, a cheery atmosphere prevails. All are dressed as if they had just stepped out of a bandbox. Delectable dishes, ambrosial cakes and the inescapable vermicelli are ready. How not to descry the twinkle light in the bright smiles of children, their enthusiastic joy, their face flashing with Noor, their henna adorned hands, their bushy-tailed eyes waiting rhapsodically for their gifts? We received friends, relatives and neighbours with red carpet treatment, give charity to poor, support ill persons, those who are alone, visit graves of relatives. Nobody is forgotten. Islam is wondrous! Eid is bewitching!

However, in the middle of this ecstasy, we must take care of our faith. The key is to remain steadfast and consistent in the good track of good deeds we successfully established in Ramadan. We must continue to dedicate time to Quran Shareef and not to blow off dust next Ramadan to read. We must keep the charity flowing and not only in Ramadan that we must help the needy. We must build schedules around the daily five prayers, seek forgiveness constantly and our tongues must unremittingly be saddened in zikr. Health is followed by sickness, youth by old age and strength turns into weakness. Before these bound to happen natural process occur, let’s adopt the same level of good actions after the Ramadan. May Allah grant us satisfaction in all ramifications and make our final abode Jannat-ul-Firdaus. May Allah shower his choicest blessings on you. Sending a bouquet of warm wishes to all of you.

Eid Mubarak.
