Inauguration of the new Flacq hospital: A grave historical blunder!

Let me say something bluntly about a general violation of protocol and lack of fairness amounting to a grave historical blunder by this government on the inauguration of the new Flacq hospital last week. My question is, who provides the money to build this new hospital in Flacq? The answer is Saudi Arabia!

During that inauguration of this hospital by the PM, why is it that there was not even a Saudi Arabia national flag displayed at the spot where that inauguration took place? And why the name of the hospital is not named after a great Muslim Mauritian “tribun” instead of naming a certain Sir Anerood Jugnauth whose involvement in this matter was nil and void? Why is it that some of the guests who were invited at the opening ceremony had to carry India flags?

This function had nothing to do with India, but only with Saudi Arabia. Am I right? Why is it that the Mauritian government did not invite any Saudi Arabia officials as special guests in this open ceremony? If I recalled, whenever India or China gave donations or financed Mauritian projects, the Mauritian government always made sure to invite officials of these said countries as special guests of honour in its inauguration ceremonies. Flags of these donated countries were often seen all along the roads. Why is it different in the case of Saudi Arabia? We all know that Saudi Arabia has contributed nearly a billion rupees to erect this new Flacq hospital.

I leave it to the general public at large to make their judgments on that matter. I say no more on that topic lest certain “tête brûlé” might have different opinion on me.

I honestly think that this country need desperately a general spring cleaning with a brand new political change where social justice, meritocracy, equality and harmony prevail. We have got to get rid of all the dirt that have been contaminating our country for the past decade. Let’s hope that any new government that comes, will change the name of that new hospital with a great Muslim Mauritian “tribun”.

The people of this country are waiting eagerly for this forthcoming general election as majority of them will vote this actual government not with their hands but with their feet this time, meaning they will kick out this government in the political dustbin. The country never had it so bad this past decade under the administration of this autocratic government. Besides, the writings are on the walls everywhere for this government and they know it.

It will be high time any new government take over and make Mauritius a country nice place to live with prosperity and harmony without any obstacle.
