[L.E] A GOVERNMENT ON THE WAY OUT SOON!

“La rage et les bruits de la rue” mean bad luck for the Jugnauth government. This is obvious. We all know that the united Opposition political parties have just overtaken the Jugnauth’s MSM in all aspects of our societal issues including politics. Talking with certain political observers and also to three expert bookmakers at Tombeau Bay last Saturday, they said that the MSM is fading away and won’t last long. Most political observers admit that the population is very angry and discontent with the ruling and governance of Pravind Jugnauth as a useless and worst Prime Minister the country ever had. His rate of popularity to do with his Prime ministership is very appalling.

As long as MPs like Jeetun, Daureeawoo, Diolle, Sawmynaden, Obeegadoo and Dookun-Luchoomun, just to name a few, form part of the MSM government, the chance is slim for the Jugnauth government to win the popularity of the Nation as a whole. The PM keeps relying and lays emphasis on the marketing on certain of his capitalist development projects about making Mauritius a modern country but he forgets the nitty gritty things which are far more important for the people of this country. As a PM, he completely ignores the general needs of the population such as jobs, purchasing power, combating corruption in various of our institutions, health problems in hospitals, education where 9000 graduates are unemployed, road accidents where over 112 people have died on our roads since January 2022, where the rich are becoming richer and the poor, poorer, and other domestic issues. Dead bodies are mushrooming across the countries where police are not doing a lot to arrest the offenders. Both the Police force and ICAC are not doing their work and investigation properly. Many unsolved murder cases are not being taken seriously by police. The case of Soopramanien Kistnen is a classic example where police did not do their job diligently. This is the biggest shame on our police force.

What the population can’t stand is the indecisive actions of a rubber stamp PM of the like of Pravind Jugnauth. Here is a classic example: How come that after the publication of the Commission of Inquiry on Drugs by an ex-High Court Chief Justice where recommendations have been made against certain MPs within the government and other employees within the government, the PM did not take actions and instead, put another task force to inquire on such Commission of Inquiry’s recommendations. If this is not an insult to a prestigious institution presided by an ex-High Court Chief Justice, what does one call this then?

The United Opposition parties are joining hands to make sure that this time, their war over nepotism, favouritism and repression will be successful. Already many  private meetings are being held in Plaine Verte, Poudre d’Or, Caroline, GRSE, Camp Ithier and Chamouny as well as across the island to subdue the MSM.

There is also a great probability that all parties in the Opposition will stand as a block to combat repression, injustice and both nepotism and favouritism. As for the MSM, only time will tell if there is a future for them.

Last but not least, the Jugnauth government will soon face a political shock to realize that the majority of Muslims and other minorities are not supporting the MSM-ML.  There are continuous private meetings in Plaine Verte and other areas across the country by Muslim Organisations  to support the United Opposition parties. The subjects of Muslim Personal Law, Best Loser System and the Rawat downfall  are taken on board  for this community to disassociate with the MSM.

According to politologue Danny Chellumben, this does not make sense under the MSM government. Chellumben wrote the following lines in Asian News : “Definitely the Jugnauth government will face a shock defeat in the next general election as the population had enough of the MSM  incompetence. In fact, Ministers  of the like of Hurreeram, Toussaint and others are contributing enormously to the downfall of the Jugnauth government. This is for sure…” .

On the other hand, political analyst and International Federation Journalist Ahmad Macky wrote in the Commonwealth Journal last month that: “The dice is cast…  Believe me, my resources of information are fully justified that the electorate has already given its verdict for the 2024 general election. The country is going to the dogs. The population is suffering too much and never had it been so bad under this government. Both our health and social security system have completely failed. Mauritius is on the verge of bankruptcy. People are arrested arbitrarily by police and kept in custody overnight in police cells for merely expressing themselves on various matters concerning their livelihood. There is no liberty of expression in Mauritius as if we are living in a Police State”.
